Charlie Batt

Charlie Batt

Caught in 2009 by Charlie Batt. The 220 lb boar came out of Mohaka Forest in Hawke’s Bay, a region known for its rugged terrain, native bush, and the mighty Mohaka River.

Charlie’s dogs found and bailed the boar deep in the bush, leaving him with a backbreaking carry to get it out to the truck. The dogs, Kaia (pictured left) - an exceptional finder who put more than a few 200 lb plus boars on the ground in her time, and Mac (pictured right) - an American Bulldog cross.
